Tough stainless steel enclosures for risky and clean environments

Called DEDSS and IP66 rated, they are designed to provide secure protection in demanding electronic and electrical installations – in corrosive environments, such as the chemical and petrochemical industries, and in strict hygiene environments: the agro food sector for example, said the firm.

“The DEDSS range provides the perfect solution in environments that demand very high standards of security and cleanliness, for example where hygiene must be maintained, such as hospitals, dental and veterinary practices,” added company sales director Steve Robbins.

The door, top, bottom and sides are  grade 304 stainless steel, while the back is 2mm galvanised steel.

Impact resistance is at least IK08 and the temperature range is -20 to +55°C.

The enclosure comes as a complete kit, including a metal lock and key, and external mounting feet and spacers, and pre-wired earth strap between door and housing.

There are six sizes ranging from 300mm high x 200 wide x 150 deep, up to 500 x 500 x 200mm.

“Many accessories that fit the DEDSS range are available from Hylec: cable glands, Kwik-Fix cable glands, venting elements, contactors, thermal overloads, filter fans and other fans,” said Hylec.
